60's water tank replacement?

The 2 bed flat I'm buying has a big, box shaped water tank. I presume it's the original! What would be a decent modern replacement. Would another water storage tank or an instant on water heater be the best or most economical option? Bearing in mind I believe there is an Economy 7 meter.

It rather depends what the water tank is supplying. It might be feeding cold water into the hot water cylinder, or it might be feeding some of the cold taps in the house, or it might be feeding both. If you have a hot water cylinder how is this currently heated (An immersion heater and Economy 7 electricity is one option, a gas boiler is another). Do you have a gas boiler? Do you have mains gas?
If the tank is just feeding the hot water cylinder, you could replace it with something like this: Polytank Cold Water Tank 25gallon (UK) 690 x 515 x 520mm | Cold Water Tanks | Screwfix.com
Why do you want to replace it?The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Is it metal or plastic ??
Why do you think it needs replacing ??
