Short Term Car Requirement

Hi
What's the cheapest way to have use of a car for circa 9 months in between current leased vehicle being returned and new one (on a long waiting list!) being provided? Short term lease deals are very expensive, are there better options?
thanks

Define 'expensive' - really depends on the type of car/mileageShort term lease deals are very expensive, are there better options?
There are (or at least were) services out there where you could take over cancelled leases without the high up-front costs. Given your need for flexibility (you've no guarantee in the current market that your car will be ready in 9 months) you might be better offer buying/re-selling when the time comes.0
