With all due respect, if you're uneasy about DIY and don't really seem to have much idea about how to research ESG funds and where to buy them from, I'd suggest that the advised route may be more suitable, at least in the first instance, particularly if your pot is in £350K territory.DoneWorking said:Are there any alternatives to Vanguard which are ESG geared0 -

I wasn't really planning on using my whole funds for DIYHence my questions here and in other posts about IFAs
So far I have only been able to find IFAs who seem a bit pricy
They also seem to use an outside party to provide the investment plan
Ideally what I'd like is a smaller Group of say 3 to 5 IFAs in one practice who could provide the investment plan in house at a reasonable % cost over an extended period
One IFA I spoke to owns a small company which has a small group of 2 other IFAsHe is offering his service at less than 1% but he is selling his business within six years
I'd then have to start all over again if new owner was not suitable0 -
So far I have only been able to find IFAs who seem a bit pricyESG is more costly than conventional investing. Although the IFA cost should be the same (around 0.5-0.75% on your value). They also seem to use an outside party to provide the investment planAgain, that is more likely due to ESG. I don't like using DFMs but I do with ESG portfolios as it is not practical to provide the ESG data on in-house fund selections. For conventional portfolios, we do it in-house and avoid the DFM.
There is an expectation with ESG portfolios that the data is available and you avoid greenwashing. You expect to see things like positive/negative exposure to various areas. e.g. Sustainable water, pollution prevention, amount of CO2 etc.
