Think we have some old £20 notes in our loft from our sons Christening. Does anyone know how long the £20 notes are valid for. Can’t remember when the new £20 notes were introduced.
Thanks,
Garcon.

Thank you, so much. Will need to put it safely in our bank account. It’s somewhere in our loft.0

Define "old" - people have assumed you mean this version:
But this was in circulation in the not too distant past too:
This version is no longer in circulation so cannot be spent.0 -
Just for info - I've managed to pay some very old £5, £10 and £20 notes into my bank account in the last year or so which were all withdrawn 10+ years ago. That was a relief, as it avoided the hassle/risk of having to send them to the Bank of England by post.garcon6 said:Thank you, so much. Will need to put it safely in our bank account. These were notes I'd stashed away and forgotten about though - as you've remembered yours, it would make sense to sort them now, especially if they're currently in the loft where they're less likely to be discovered in the future !

The Post office will take any old notes that are out of circulation and pay it into your bank for you. No quibbles at all if you go to a main post office.0
