new machine wont spin mats.

HI. All. So had new machine for a few weeks now. beko 7kg. just the right size for my needs. found out yesterday it will not spin my bathroom mats. apparently bathroom mats can weigh 10 times there own weight when wet. because they are designed to absorb water. and that tremendous weight swinging about in the drum is what wears the bearing out in the back of the drum. which is exactly what happened with the old hotpoint we had before. so the new machine has a weight sensor to stop this happening. so now I have perfectly clean bathroom mats soaking wet, drip drying on the line. any one else bought a nice washing machine, with the same dilema?

Can you not hand wring the mats, taking the excess water from them, then put them back in the washing machine and set it to spin only?0

Use a cycle without spinning, leave them to drain for a while and them spin. If they still are more than 7kg, spin them separately.

It might take slightly longer, but you'll avoid prematurely wearing out the bearing on your new machine.Part of the issue with washing larger items like bath mats isn't just the total weight, but the fact the machine can't distribute the items evenly around the drum to balance the load. A bath mat on one side of the drum and nothing on the other will make the drum very out of balance. Sometimes adding extra items to a wash is beneficial (despite the additional weight) because it means the drum balances better in the spin phase.0

Wash some towels at the same time. They will be heavy like the mats and should help balance things out.0

My 6Kg Bosch machine has no problem with bathroom mats. But I always add in some towels at the same time. With only two heavy mats, of different sizes, there's no way that's going to be a balanced load on the spin cycle.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
