You want the universal larder unit (part No. 122917), and then doors to match. There are four different door heights plus an infill panel to suit a variety of appliances. The kicker is the size - 600mm wide, and 2190mm high. You wanted a 500mm wide tall unit ?

Ah I see, thank you! I was confused why I could see them in the brochure but was obviously looking for the wrong thing.

Yes, ideally 500 but I might be able to save 100mm. I had included a 400mm unit in case I put an ironing board in, but I can change that to 300.

Or swap the 500 thin unit to a 400….

I feel it’s starting to come together and I’m feeling quite excited. It is currently the worst area in the house (and that’s saying something!) Which is sad when it’s in my vision every time I’m in the kitchen.

    Thanks!

Having had 300mm wide units in my old kitchen, I found they were not really wide enough to store stuff in, so they ended up being a dumping ground for small bits of tat'n'crap. I'd suggest taking the 500mm unit under the sink down to 400mm if the bowl will fit in comfortably. Having a pair of 400mm doors next to each other will give a more balanced run.

  • Food for thought I’ll have a play around, thanks. The utility is a dumping ground for everything though, so it it is dumped out of sight its not too bad. But I will keep playing m. :-)

The best place for an ironing board, in my experience, is to hang it on two coats on the back of the door.

Stores it neatly, gets in no-ones way and costs virtually nothing at all.

We have a brabantia iron & ironing board holder fitted on the inside of a cupboard door - the previous owners had the coat hooks trick that Doozer mentions, but they took the hooks with them when they moved out.

We have this, fitted in the under-stairs cupboard.  I recommend it.
  • Thank you. Yeah, it seems an extravagance really. Especially as we only iron when absolutely necessary, it’s not like I need a luxury set up.

Having had one, this or the hooks is the way to go - not a luxury.

No more leaning / toppling ironing boards, the holder was game changing for me.

(I iron very infrequently, but have a solid brabantia board and phillips iron, since I cannot stand wobbly boards or rubbish irons)
