Hello. My wife has today received a County court claim form.

There are 4 PCNs listed on the claim form
DATE REDACTED - 2020
DATE REDACTED - 2020
DATE REDACTED - 2020
DATE REDACTED - 2020

Amount claimed £788.64
court fee £70
legal representative costs £70
total amount £928.64

The site is shopping centre car park, which has a large anchor supermarket. It's a free car park with a 4 hour time limit.

On the dates in question my wife had just started working for the supermarket as a delivery driver (this was the start of the first lockdown)

What defense am i best off submitting?

What is the Issue Date on the County Court Claim Form?

    Who is the Claimant?

Oh, and there is no letter 's' in the word Defence.    ;)

If your wife is the named Defendant, then everything must be done in her name.

With a Claim Issue Date of 10th March, you have until Tuesday 29th March to file an Acknowledgment of Service. Do not file an Acknowledgment of Service before 15th March, but otherwise there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 12 April 2022 to file your Defence.
That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Where about in the country is this?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Thanks for confirmation. There are some Anchor supermarkets in Scotland, and had this been the case with your charges, it might have put a different complexion on things. Not so.

What happened when your wife complained to her employer/manager/CEO/the landowner?

Has she resigned yet citing the reason why since she will be shelling out more than she is making if this continues?
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

She hasn't worked for them since late 2020.

She didn't complain initially on receiving the PCNs as she thought they would simply go away.

She should complain now and require her former employer to cancel the charges.
