Debit card

Barclays has just sent my new debit card but the old one doesn’t expire until November. Does anyone know if I can use the old one until then? Getting hold of Barclays isn’t that easy. Phone line is busy, email doesn’t exist any more and our local branch closed
On the website it says new cards are sent out about a month before the old one expired. Very little paperwork came with it

Did you receive a text message saying they are replacing your card?
When they normally replace a card well in advance of the cards expiry date, it’s because they have information that your card details may have been compromised, usually from somewhere where you have used your card before. And they replace the card as a precaution. A text message is usually sent to you to tell you they are replacing the card, but they don’t tell you why.As soon as you use the new card the old one will stop working. If you carry on using the old card, it will stop working after a number of weeks.0 -

Just activate and use the new card.
Destroy the old one.0
