What exactly do those who check your credit file see?

Options
So apparently they don't actually see your credit score, this I'm aware of, but I'm interested to know what exactly it is they do see... do they see your credit history (how much you borrow and pay back monthly)? Do they see your general payment history and any missed payments?

Thanks.

Yes, plus ER, addresses, aliases, financial associates, any defaults and CCJs and any accounts that reported to the CR in question.

Other searches, such as ID or landlord checks will show a lesser degree of data.

This worries me a little as I've been making late rent payments for the last 3 or so months.

Does your landlord report your rent payments?

Not that I'm aware of (nothing shows on my credit file and they have never mentioned anything to do with credit). For added context, the latest I've paid my rent in full has been 20 days from its due date. I'm again late this month after having paid a small portion of it already and I will be unable to fully pay it until the 20th of this month. I have had the lettings agency state that I need to get my "finances in order" and ask whether I would like to hand in my notice so I can find something more suited to me, which sort of comes across as a passive-aggressive threat of eviction.

It seems more like they're kindly giving you a heads up. If you can't cover your outgoings, you need to take action.
