Moving into home on Eon Next - struggling to understand due to head injury

Hello,

I'm moving into a new home next week and setting up the energy the house is currently supplied by Eon Next. They've sent me a letter to look at my tariffs. House is currently on the SVT but that will shoot up but they won't tell me what to.

They've offered the Eon Next V13 (12-month fix) as an alternative to the SVT tariff but I can't tell if that's better. No-where seems to compare the figures side by side and it's all confusing average amounts when looking up the price cap.

I've got a head injury so really struggling to find a way to compare whether it's worth joining and fixing if there's potential for the prices to shoot up on 1st April and again in October. If the prices are due to go up on the first and possibly again in October I think the fix might be better but if those are the rates they'll charge from April already it might be best to stay on the SVT?!

If anyone can shed any light or help me understand this a bit better I'd be incredibly grateful.

Rates are as of 12/03/22:

SVT Elec
Unit: 27.36p KwH
SC: 48.53p day

SVT Gas
Unit: 7.28p KwH
SC: 27.22p Day

V13 (12) Elec
Unit: 39.93p KwH
SC: 48.53p day

V13 (12) Gas
Unit: 10.32p KwH
SC: 27.22p day

The SVT rates you have there are the ones effective from April 1st.
The V13 fix is at the high end of the current guesses on where the SVT will go in October, so not particularly attractive, but it is all just a guess right now.

Thank you MWT, Perhaps best to just stay SVT and see what happens in that case.

The simple answer is that 39.93p is a lot more than 27.36p for electricity.  And 10.32p is a lot more than 7.28p for gas.

So ignoring their offer and sticking with the SVT will save you a lot of money until October.  But the prices will go up again in October, and nobody knows how much they will go up by.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
