Elec usage currently high due to flood

After having two weeks of on and off leaks from the flats above me (drying rooms out and then Niagara Falls reoccuring),with having 4 dehumidifers running (bedroom, lounge, hall and wet room) my elec usage is very high at the moment. My landlord has said they will pay for the extra usage, so I am not too mithered about the extra cost.
What is bothering me is before the leaks, I was averaging around 5 kWh a day elec usage. Since a week last Monday, my usage has been between 30 and 40 kWh a day. I am worried that when EON take a smart meter reading, this increase is going to affect my direct debit calculation - currently £83 a month - and turn it into something unaffordable.

If they do want to increase it then I’d hope that making contact to explain the situation should resolve the issue. In fact it may even be worth contacting them (perhaps via live chat) to let them know that your current usage is a very temporary situation?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
