Resolve Call-- I'm already paying for the debt with CCJ

I had a catalogue in 2008 which went to default in 2012. In 2018 Lowell took it to court and I ended up with a £900 CCJ. I agreed to pay £15 a month standing order, I'm on universal credit with a part time job, and I've been making the payments every month. Lowell wrote after the first payment to say thanks and they'd recieved it and I've not had any communication with them since. Suits me fine.

Anyway fast forward to Feb 2022 and I start to recieve letters from Resolve Call on behalf of Arrow Global for a shop direct account. I'm assuming that it's the same debt that has the CCJ. I ignore them because I know I'm already paying.

So today I get a hand delivered card through the door from one of their agents
She came whilst I was at work and my Ring Doorbell recorded her. She knocked rather than ringing the bell so I didn't get to speak to her. I rang resolve call and they did confirm that the debt was from 2012. I told him it's already been to court and its got a CCJ and in any case if it didn't it would be statue barred by now. "We don't have any record of a CCJ or Lowell" he said. "But we do have an old Orange account of yours though" I laughed 😅  and told him there's no way that exists, I've never had a debt with Orange, but nice try.

"Oh we'll send it back to arrow global" he said. Yep you do that my friend, and make sure you get your records up to date in future. I also told him that if he or his agents turn up at my House again or contact me, I'm contacting the FCA!

The cheek of it! Can they really try and collect a debt that already has a CCJ?

Are you still making payments?  If not then regardless of CCJ yes they can still attempt to collect the debt.

If I understood you correctly Resolvecall were trying to collect on an Arrow Global debt that they claim was an Orange account of yours from ten years ago without a ccj.

Yes they can try to collect and you can tell them to F off, which you have effectively done.

If you get any further communication on this, send the 'not mine but it would be statute barred anyway'  letter

Ah, you should never assume anything with these companies.

Both Lowell and Arrow Global are major debt purchasing companies, its not beyond the realms of possibility that Lowell have sold the debt to Arrow, although if that were the case, they would normally have written to you.

Either way that information is way above the call handler @ Resolve call`s pay grade, there screen wouldn`t tell them any more than what was in the letter.
