Shengen 90 day calculator

Hi, I'm trying to work out how many days I can travel in the EU Shengen area which I know is 90 days in every 180 and it's a rolling calculation.  There are a number of apps to calculate this but they seem to give differing answers (which make me doubt my own calculations).  Can you recommend either an app which is correct or otherwise a failsafe way of working this out please?

Day 1 = day of entry, last day is the day you left.

For safety, you calculate this going back 181 days.

You can make a spreadsheet easily going back 181 days from the next entry date (put today's date in row 182) and drag up, then work through your passport with any day you spent in the Schengen area (including the dates of entry and exit) being +1 from the previous number.

When you need to use this again, you can then drag the dates and days in EU up, reset the top number to 1 and repeat.
