Own fault car accident turns out I am not insured

Sorry, one more question: if the insurer does have to pay up, and even if I reimburse them - is there a chance I could be denied insurance in the future at renewal because of this?
They have put a strike against my husbands NCB protection because it happened in his vehicle, but they said my NCB remains unaffected although I have to disclose the accident obviously.0 -
Yes, but they could decline to quote for a number of reasons. There as 1000's of drivers who have been prosecuted for no insurance who manage to obtain a policy after both conviction and accidents. Don't worry about that.cpfcstar said:Sorry, one more question: if the insurer does have to pay up, and even if I reimburse them - is there a chance I could be denied insurance in the future at renewal because of this?

Once you have reimbursed them the NCD will be reinstated, the same as any other claim type.cpfcstar said:Sorry, one more question: if the insurer does have to pay up, and even if I reimburse them - is there a chance I could be denied insurance in the future at renewal because of this?

Your current insurers may decide not to offer a renewal to you but there won't be a black mark against your name. It is highly unlikely but in theory they could decide to void your partner's insurance for having allowed uninsured people to drive their vehicle but that would be something they have to declare not you (and that could go into centralised databases like CUE)... as I say though it is unlikely.0
