What's wrong with the word "increase"? Hike is just used to put a slant on the story. I'm not sure that "up to £24 per year" justifies the tag but it is typical of the exaggeration that goes with stories like these.6

I agree - Netflix prices are going up £2 a month - they are not being 'Hiked'2

Ah! Never let the truth get in the way of a good story/headline!0

However it is all getting rather expensive. To watch in decent screen quality on multiple devices @£192 a year is a lot more than the maintstream competition.0

We use the basic plan. Screen quality is perfectly fine and I only ever use one device to download programmes if we are ever going away anywhere. £6.99 a month is very reasonable. Even the £10.99 plan is cheaper than the TV licence, so still good value IMO.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.1

£6.99 a month is just over £83 per year, perfectly acceptable compared to the TV Licence at £159.
Cancel any time you want and if you use a VPN you can watch content from any country not just the UK.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
"We use the basic plan. Screen quality is perfectly fine and I only ever use one device to download"Thanks for that. I have changed from the 3x devices and h.d. to the £6.99/month one device and wondered whether there will be a big deterioration in picture quality? You have to laugh at all this headline grabbing "hike"!What's wrong with "rise"? Same number of letters but less catchy no doubt!0
