TUI Scammers

Hi, we were booked to go away in 2021 but due to CV19 TUI changes the date what we agreed on it. We had an upgrade to a sea view room what we paid over £800 extra for, we have now looked at the booking and have been downgraded again with no offer of a refund.
I am rudely informed by TUI staff it was our error and have to pay again this cant be correct, can it????

It certainly could be.
But you'll need to look in detail at the original booking, the new one and any price difference to see what has happened.
It won't be a scam though.2 -

I'm hoping to go on a (delayed)TUI holiday later this year. The invoice on their website clearly shows the cost and any upgrades paid for. Doesn't yours?

Somebody correct me if I'm talking mince - but it seems (to me at least) as if the OP accepted a voucher to the value of the original reservation to use later for a future booking ?The new deal is much more costly for all grades of cabins - and would therefore require a further payment ?Maybe's aye - the again maybe's naw......................as Kenny Dalglish would say.Personal opinion ref.TUI - always take the cash refund option where they have to cancel a package or cruise - that leaves you with the choice of booking again, or walking away if there is a cost hike.0

As giraffe says the invoices should detail what has and hasn't been booked and payed for. But it's not a scam.0 -

No mince. I had been thinking the same. Original booking cancelled, funds held as a credit. When credit used to book a new holiday perhaps OP assumed a like-for-like trade and did not account for price variances. Rebooked but not selecting that sea view room category. At least something along those lines. No Scam.0
