smart meters?

I am in a 24 month fixed tariff deal with E.ON.

E.ON want to install a smart meter which I am against.

Can E.ON cancel my 24 month fixed tariff deal is I do not agree to the installation of a smart meter.  If this lawful?

    Yes, they can.

You signed an agreement, if you break that agreement the contract is null and void.

By all means go on to a tariff that may be 300% more than you are currently paying for your principles.

They can do whatever it says in your contract. What does your contract say?
If it says the tariff is subject to having a smart meter fitted then you must allow them to do so or leave the tariff.
If it says you do not require to have a smart meter fitted then you don't need to have one fitted, you can simply refuse.
Is there a reason you don't want a smart meter?
