No appointments available for Smart Meter installation
Options
Hi All,
I'm with Eon next and I've been struggling to get an appointment to get a smart meter installed. I'm in the HP16 / Bucks area and the appointments apparently are looking 4 months into the future (I'm told) but no one from Eon Next can give me a reason as to why there are no appointments and also won't confirm how many engineers they have available in the area. All seems rather odd. I've been trying since late last year to get an appointment!
Anyone else having a problem and has anyone found a solution?
Thanks
Rodp

They will not tell you how many engineers they have and the reason that they have no appointments is that none are available, that might be they are all booked up, it might be they are working in other areas at the moment. It is not odd, it is just to do with working patterns.1 -
E.on smart meter fitting is sub-contracted to Morrison Utility Services, so I suspect once a request is passed on E.on know nothing about it until the job is done.If it's any comfort, Morrison installations are by far the neatest, with all the old/new meter information properly filled out on a ticket that is screwed to the backboard.1

Sorry I think this might be my fault, I've been hogging all the appointmentsNext Tuesday will be Eon's 3rd attempt since January to install my smart meter. Apparently the old meter was incorrectly logged as 3-phase on some independent database, so the installerjust took one look and left. Hopefully now fixed...0

Suppliers must be delighted that they now have waiting lists for smart meter installations.0
