Vanquis purchase charge

Hello,
I have been using a vanquis card for 2 or 3 years.
I make a point of clearing off the balance each month to avoid interest, and have done this for awhile now.
Looking at my recent statement I noticed a charge called purchase interest charge.
I queried this and was informed that vanquis put an automatic charge on every purchase irrespective of paying off balance or not.
The more times you use the card, the more charges.
But, when I asked if there was a set of guidelines or tables explaining how much the charge rates are, and what the percentage cost was per transaction, I was informed that there is no details that can be given.
This doesn't sound right, does it? They claim that there is nothing that shows if you make X number of transactions, you will be charged. Or, if you make higher cost purchases, then you will be charged more.
Has anyone else had this experience with vanquis?

A purchase interest charge either means that the balance wasn't cleared in full or a mistake has been made.
Either look at or post up full details from the statement (and the previous one) and you should be able to work out what's happening.1 -
Right, I have spoken to them again today...and the information I was given yesterday was incorrect and totally confused the matter. It was simply that on one month I hadn't cleared the balance.
