Tyres cracking and MOT
Comments

Why don’t you just get it MOTed and worry about it if they fail it?1

Thres only used to start cracking after 12 year or so.
Unless they were cheap Portuguese tyres. I had to replace one set of tyres because the cracks in the sidewalls were several inches long, and I didn't feel safe driving on them any more.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
If they say it's dangerous, you won't be able to drive it away and won't have the chance to shop around for tyres.KimJongUn88 said:Why don’t you just get it MOTed and worry about it if they fail it?1 -

My 2017 car has only done 12K miles and I had an advisory at the last MoT about tyre walls cracking. I suppose I'll have to replace them soon even though there is plenty of tread left.1

Tyres are the 4 points between you and the tarmac. It isn’t worth skimping. Decent tyres are a must.3
