To clarify my earlier point, I think calling the police is sensible for 2 reasons.
    1. Whatever the dodgy side of the scan is, there may be a potential risk to the OPs physical safety.
    2. If the dodgy part of what's going on is a crime, calling the police to explain may help the OP avoid potential consequences of her involvement.
But they're both entirely speculative theories (based on what OP has shared), so the question remains: while most on here are suspicious about a wad of cash and the other red flags, what evidence is there of an actual crime being committed?

Having said that, if OP really did have genuine reason to believe that there's a risk to physical safety then yes, that's a police matter, but for the second point, even if they entertained the discussion in the first place, it would surely be a case of saying "don't get involved then", just like everyone on here has....

I don't know why you keep mentioning the police on my posts, I have never mentioned them.

As for being a student, that is fine as long as when they work they also pay the taxes that are due. I have no problems with that.

Bloody hell moneysaver, do they know you've escaped to post absolute waffle on MSE for the day?

It is good to know that you have no problems with that though - the OP will be sure to let her new boyfriend know.

I think it's coincidental timing this thread was made while 'The Tinder Swindler' is in popularity. It seems to be playing out in a similar fashion.

To be honest, I think we should just cut out losses and leave this thread.

OP clearly has her mind made up, as Malthusian said, 7 pages of suspicion and the OP still seems to be trying to validate their (obvious) stance on the matter. In threads like this, it makes you wonder why they bother posting the thread in the first place.

I'd wager the OP's boyfriend will ask the money to be transferred, even if he says he won't.

His car will of broken down, or he'll be in hospital, or some other emergency - calling it now

That's your problem eskbanker, you're trying to argue with logic. No doubt the police will be postively thrilled to have to deal with this.

Personally, I think the OP should just murder him before he murders her first - it is the most sensible option at this point (to confirm - an obvious joke, please don't murder your boyfriend OP)...

Well given the very limited of information all any of us can do is speculate.
I have never asserted a crime is being committed here, I am simply saying there is a risk and I think contacting the police may help alleviate some of that risk.
