Party Wall issue

we received a letter from our neighbour indicating that she would be building a house in the vacant lot next door to us. Fine. She also said she would like to have the party wall rebuilt to be somewhat higher. We are responsible for the fence but had no plans to rebuild it as it is nicely covered with a hedge that I don't want to see torn down as it will ruin our garden, at least in the short term. Do we have any recourse or do we have to have it rebuilt at our expense?

Nope - she can build her own fence on her side of the boundary if she wants (subject to usual PP regs) leaving yours in-situ.1

This. Or you can agree that she pays for a new boundary structure, whatever you agree that it might be.The_Unready said:Nope - she can build her own fence on her side of the boundary if she wants (subject to usual PP regs) leaving yours in-situ.It certainly isn't something that you need to pay for.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
