Price cap from April
Hello,
I am confused with the price cap on ofgem. On their website it shows £0.28 kWh. My fixed term is coming to an end at end of this month. The best deal my provider has £0.50 kWh until May 2023. At the moment I am paying around 50£/month. With the new offer I will be paying £150/month. So my question is - Should I not take up that offer and stay at variable rate as from April I won't be charged more than that price cap set by ofgem? Which is way less than the rate my provider is offering. At the moment I am getting zero offers on USwitch.
Thank you in advance for the clarification.

If you want to go onto the capped rates you literally need to do nothing. You will then automatically roll onto the variable rate then - which is capped. (The exception to this would be if you were with one of the "super-green" companies who are exempted from the cap - but I suspect that is not the case for you).🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hello
Thank you for your replies. I am with Scottishpower. Is that a green company?

There is no purity of supply. All the gas and electricity, from whatever source is mixed, during distribution. However, Scottish Power do have a lot of windfarms.

Thank you all for your replies. I am going with the SVR until I get a better fixed rate deal.0
