Afternoon all,
Thanks NG - have just put a load on with towels in, so will try that next. It was amazing what a difference the sheet made.
Rotovator man came this morning, all fine and so I've got £100 to pop into the allotment fund. This will go towards some wood/mesh for fruit caging I think, but still to be decided.
We've also had an afternoon tea delivered from Piglet's Pantry - I can't remember if I said, but we had a voucher for an afternoon tea in a restaurant that we just weren't going to get to use by the expiry date, so we ordered this instead. Unfortunately we couldn't order the veggie option (Buy a gift a bit discriminatory there), so I foresee Mr MV eating the savoury and me eating the cake - for dinner as he's out all day now! It's a hardship, but I'll manage!
Still busy with work - and prospect of more too. Still need to get started with the software I need for the Cambridge project.
Had a reply from mattress retailer - not impressed and will be following up. And if they won't sort it out, then I'll go back to Hypn0s and press them. Laptop is still not working properly and Mr MV is spending a lot of time trying to work it out.... it'll be going back for a refund soon.... and then I'll have to start again. A bit peeved with my Dad who decided today was the point to mention that he still has a couple of contacts (he worked in IT) who might be able to help with a laptop - why didn't he mention this before when I was looking to buy originally?!
MS things:
* Couple of small wins on the HW this morning
* PA survey
* Sun is just about out here, so dishwasher has been on and wm on now
* Dinner was stir fry last night using mostly hg/free ingredients
Gratitudes:
* Yummy cake to enjoy
* Ebay sale went smoothly
* Sun is shining - I'd like to get to allotment, but so busy with work!

Thanks SH, I was really pleased too! My shed has been a really useful source of stuff for the allotment, but doing no-dig I wasn’t going to use the rotovator, so better the cash for something.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all,
We're heading off to the in-laws shortly - they have two bags of cooking apples for me from a friend's garden, plus some butter I added to their supermarket delivery as it was the cheapest place to get it (with Mr MV's discount). Also hoping MIL can help me pull through the threads the cats have pulled on my Levis as they already look tatty 😥 Will turn the apples into crumble, may bottle some as they are and may also have a go at making apple butter (for us and for Christmas presents too)
Had one of those Coop pizza nights last night, but also picked up reduced breaded fish and fries for tonight, which we'll have with some free mushy peas (from Olio). £10 spent (Mr MV paid), including £1 off for spending £10 and 50p off of the pizza. Not the cheapest but saved takeaway and we have got two meals out of it.
Have cooked up some pink currants from the freezer this morning and am leaving them to strain - will turn into pink currant jelly for Christmas presents and it has freed up a considerable space in the freezer. Have done a few other bits of life admin this morning and yesterday afternoon - beginning to feel slightly less overwhelmed by the jobs list.
Yesterday morning Mum and I went into her town - we enjoyed free a free cake and cuppa each courtesy of Mr MV's JL card and I found some shoes for next weekend's functions (London to Brighton) in a CS for £7. Paid my £100 from rotovator into the bank too - very pleased that the Ebay charges are only £2.86 as I used the FVF offer!
This morning I've also done my evening class homework (ahead of time, watch me polish my halo) and, even more spectacularly, have got my cello out of its case for the first time in years!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Cake always tastes better when it's free! Well done on the homework being done early.
Ooo apple crumble is the best. I hope you've got some custard to go with it 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Couldn’t agree more about free cake Jessy! And of course there’s custard - crumble is the excuse for custard according to Mr MV (he’d eat it on its own if he could get away with it!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ooh - I love cooking apples. Sadly I don’t have any, but I do have a lot of free frozen blackberries. Maybe we should swap 😂2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Custard! Yes, custard, that's my takeaway 😛🥣🍮2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Afternoon all,
Busy morning with work - and still more to do. A lot for a client who I usually only get a few small bits for, so it's nice that things are a bit busier with them at the moment.
I did finish the pink currant jelly yesterday evening and made an apple crumble with just a small portion of the apples from the in-laws - I need to do something with the rest of them today. MIL did a brilliant job on my jeans - they look much better. I have some ironing on the reverse to do to hold things in place though. Our YS fish and chips dinner last night was good too.
On a more frustrating note, the man who bought the rotovator has been in touch to say it's not working properly and could he have a partial refund/return.... The answer will be yes, but it's irritating!
Have been in touch about my laptop and it's going back to them for testing... just need to action that/reply to the email. Also have email to edit and send re mattress - but need time to do that (and brainpower).
Am hoping to crack on with reports for Cambridge this afternoon, although my back is already playing up (I'm definitely thinking this chair is not great for it).
MS things:
* Clicks and HW done - won 11p
* Still no heating coming on here - it just hasn't been cold enough, which is great, although less so for the planet
* Whatever profit I make from the rotovator is profit - so I need to let the stress of giving a refund go
Gratitudes:
* Plans are in the making for the L2B this weekend - not sure if I mentioned that we're getting to ride on the car this year?! It'll be the first time for Mr MV; unfortunately the weather isn't looking too great at the moment - we may get rather wet!
* Friends has been in touch about getting together at the end of Nov for a curry out
* Looking forward to day out tomorrow with Mum - going to the Beatrix Potter exhibition at the V&A
* Lots of work (just not loving it this morning!)
* Free apples and apple crumble and custard
