So, after neither of the pet shops in my town had flea spray I ended up going to the next town to get some. And the stuff has to be left for four hours, so I’ve shut them in the living room and sprayed the kitchen and hall. I’ll go early tomorrow and let them out. Poor darlings. Updated owner and she said that none of the stuff works after a while and this can be true as the fleas become resistant, so possibly not her fault after all.Came home and straight in the shower (the DEET didn’t keep them off me and I’d rather not have it on longer than necessary). Freezer surprise dinner was remarkably tasty sweet potato and chickpea curry. Served with rice and an omelette to use up an egg white leftover from ice cream making.
Feel I should be doing something useful now, but after a large glass of wine, it is unlikely to happen. Might just get my book instead.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks RT - it was a promise I made myself as I was driving around looking for flea spray! Unfortunately it was red, as we didn’t have any white, so now I have a headache… worth it though!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Well I did manage to enter some competitions yesterday after my wine, so time wasn't entirely wasted (was so tired, I was tempted to go to bed, except I didn't think sleep time at 8.30 would be a good idea!).
Have seen the cats this morning and none of my nightmare scenarios came true (was worried this would be the first time they decided to try opening doors etc. etc.). Spray seems to have worked fairly well - I didn't do a thorough job, so not expecting perfection, but apart from the cats, there wasn't a chorus of 'breakfast has arrived' as I walked through the door! Feel better having improved the situation there and it's good to have got today's visit over with early.
Have a piece of work from an occasional client this morning (although this is the third piece this month, so that's nice) and then more for main client. Also Cambridge meeting this afternoon. Washing is on line (done yesterday). Supermarket delivery has been and gone, so I've got bread proving (needed flour in delivery) for lunch and dry ingredients mixed for ginger biscuits (to crush and top elderly bananas for dessert - family recipe). Will put all in oven at same time (good job this isn't going on for a while - battery is at 16%! It is charging though as the sun is out-ish here).
Dinner tonight will be slow-cooked courgette pasta, with some spinach chucked in and maybe some homemade pesto on top. Olio tonight, but I might need a nap before then (I am so tired, but not sure why!).
MS things:
* Clicks, comps and HW done
* Eating from freezer and hg produce
* Using solar wisely
Gratitudes:
* The flea spray worked! (I'm not a fan of heavy-handed use of chemicals, but this is definitely a time for them)
* Mr MV's (remote) help and support with cats/fleas yesterday
* The flea spray worked (it bears repeating!)
Have a good day all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I like the sound of ginger biscuits & elderly bananas. Unfortunately I don't think my DS would give up his banana loaf.

It’s as easy as it sounds BM - sliced bananas, top with crushed ginger biscuits and then bake until nanas are gooey. Serve on its own or with cream/custard. But I like banana loaf too. You’ll have to check out Olio for bananas - quite often big lots are given away - enough for both! 😁Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Worms have arrived! I don't have a wormery yet, but hopefully it will be ready this afternoon.
Bread and biccies baked, end of last loaf chopped and frozen as croutons and blackberry vinegar bottles (3 250ml bottles). If only work was going as well! I really must concentrate, but the other things are so much more interesting!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Haha - you've hit the nail on the head - everything else is much more interesting than work! Today work is like herding cats and I'd rather be tidying the house or even ironing. - For me the danger of WFH is the distraction!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! My makeshift muffins the other day used up three bananas from the freezer and were most tasty. (Makeshift as they ended up being made in two pyrex pie plates as - you've guessed it - I'd already packed the muffin tin! It worked brilliantly though, and gave nice "in between" size portions when each was quartered - a little bigger than one muffin but enough that it avoided the inevitable "I'll just have another one"...!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
