That's another nice day, MV
and still productive.

Glad to hear the allotment is going well, and you had a nice afternoon in the pub! £23 doesn't sound extravagant considering
Yay for free cake and flip flops!

Morning all,
Thanks Karma and Cheery! You may say yay for free cake Cheery, but it has defrosted now and still feels solid as a rock! It'll have to be dessert with custard, I think!
Early morning this morning - collected from Tesco, picked up a cat sitting key and dropped the mini off for its MOT all by 8.45. Then walked back home and listed the Olio stuff and chaos ensued. It drives me up the wall when people don't read the listings, don't tell me when they can collect in the first message and/or request multiples of items of which there's only 1! I soon realised I was not in the mood for it this morning (especially the other volunteer from our store who asked for 2 bunches of flowers when I'd said you can only request 1 - there were only three and I knew they'd be popular - and then kept changing her mind about whether she was coming for the other bits when she didn't get the flowers! I expect better from other volunteers, but she really seems to have no clue about any of it and is quite greedy)! Oh well, most of it has gone now and it's settled down.
There was the final Octopus turn down this morning (9-11), but I needed a cup of tea, so doubt we'll have achieved our 30% reduction.
I have a few bits of work to sort out and then I may be collecting some gravel from a Freecycler for our garden (where we're redoing a bit after the storm). If it stays dry, I may go and shovel some compost at the allotment. In the supermarket delivery I've just had, I included some tea bags (only have loose normally) - these are for the allotment, so I can take the camping stove down and enjoy a brew there - and entice visitors too! I could do with planting some more seeds, but they're going to have to wait until the weather warms up a bit!
Mr MV is supposed to be out for dinner with a supplier tonight, as long as he has the energy (he's still really struggling since Covid), so not sure what I'm going to have for dinner, but I might take a leaf out of Cheery's book and do some batch cooking.
MS things:
* Free food and tulips from Olio (the daffs I collected yesterday smell pretty dreadful, so they'll be going soon)
* Clicks done
* Have submitted my bank details for payment for market research study
* Doing Correctly Delivered for RM survey
* No heating on.... but it will be going on boost shortly - it's about 15 degrees in here!
* PA surveys
* Cat sitting from this evening (and picking up third key for next week)
Gratitudes:
* Evening class was OK last night - only two of us and the other student doesn't know about the situation with my friend (as he's come on board since the friend became ill). Sometimes a smaller group really feels beneficial for learning.
* While I was at evening class Mr MV started watching Emily in Paris on Netflix to see if it was as bad as the reviews said - verdict is yes, but also quite funny - we watched another episode after I'd finished my class! It was quite light-hearted
* Some lovely sane Olioers and the support from my Olio friend, who I totally vented at this morning

Right, I'm caught up with work for now and I've just heard that the Mini has passed its MOT - yay!
Before I wander down to collect it, I'd quite like to get to the allotment, even if just briefly. Might pop over to the charity shop too as I need a secure tupperware container for my tea bags there, but I don't really want to sacrifice one from home (annoyingly I saw a couple in the town's CS the other day, but don't really want to take the car out) - I won't buy new, but nearly/actually new from a CS is acceptable.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oof, oblivious Olio-ers would try my patience too. But tulips are lovely, very much so
You're juggling a lot of things, hope you're still taking time for yourself.

Thanks Karma. The tulips are lovely! In reality I have too much time as work is back to being relatively quiet (thankfully, there’s cat sitting!). With Mr MV out tonight I intend to sit and watch something different on TV and let the instant pot cook my dinner, so a nice bit of me time.
Didn’t get to the allotment but did pick up the car and while I didn’t find any food containers at the charity shop, I did find some shuttlecocks - given that we’re down to one sorry looking one, this was fortuitous!
Dropped Mr MV at the station and popped back via Sainsbury’s to get loo roll - three packs as it’s on my Nectar prices thing at £2.16 instead of a shelf price of £3.30! Got home and realised I have to go out again shortly to pick up key for third cat sitting client!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Shuttlecocks at the charity shop, when you need them, is brilliantly random, I love it.2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Inspired by Cheery, I’ve just spent an hour or so in the kitchen batch cooking parsnip dal (for me) and pork curry (for Mr MV) using the end of the roast (technically it’s a turkey curry recipe for leftovers Christmas turkey, but as you just add the meat at the end 🤷🏼♀️) - 3 portions of each. And I roasted some cherry tomatoes for risotto for tomorrow night and some new potatoes which I’ve just eaten with a couple of fried eggs. Feeling very productive! (I also watched the Homesteading Family - very good background company! 😁)
Will head out to feed cat soon and hopefully combine it with picking Mr MV up from the station too.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
