Multiple Virgin M Plus Accounts?
Comments

Has anybody managed to open/switch to a sole and a joint M Plus account? I can't see anything in the T&Cs that says you can't...

A warning to anyone thinking of opening a Virgin M Plus Account.
DON'T - you will regret it!
The App is useless and I've been trying all day to get them to transfer money FROM my M Plus account TO my Nationwide current account and failed miserably.
I spent at least 90 mins in total today trying to telephone the "Help" service; I've tried several times to Chat with representatives to understand the problem without success, and I've raised a complaint about the pathetic level of service without reply.
The account is supposed to be managed online, but Virgin is insisting on talking to me on the telephone before releasing the money, which is absurd if contacting them that way is virtually impossible.
Banking with Virgin has been one of the most frustrating, irritating and time-consuming experiences I've ever had with any bank, and I won't touch them again with a bargepole!

I have never had a problem with Virgin and find that the app is brilliant for moving money between my three accounts and paying to other payees5

Similar experience for me.luvchocolate said:I have never had a problem with Virgin and find that the app is brilliant for moving money between my three accounts and paying to other payees
Like any other bank, VM will occasionally hold up a payment, e.g. if it is to a new payee or for a large amount. We have to thank the fraudsters who con people out of money to thank for those security checks.4 -
I had a few problems at the beginning with blocked payments that took a little time and some go away money to sort out but since then it's been flawless.

I've not banked with Virgin that long, but I too have never had any issues.0

Both M Plus accounts and the corresponding savings accounts paid out interest as expected. I’ve already moved my money from the savings accounts to Chase anyway to get the higher interest rate! I’ll just leave the 2 x £1,000 in the current accounts.Se1Lad said:
Ah I was looking at the T&Cs I was sent when I opened my first account in January. I will keep a copy of the chat log with their customer service agent in case they do close it - if nothing else I can raise a complaint that I was given the wrong information.Daliah said:
It is right at the beginning of the T&Cs, on page 2. Whether they enforce this particular term or whether they will close your account after a review remains to be seen. If they close it, you don't have a leg to stand on.Se1Lad said:I thought that you were no longer able to apply for multiple M Plus Accounts - however I couldn't see anything about this in the T&C's.
It seems odd that they have not updated the application process either - one of the questions at the start of the process confirms if you already have an existing M Plus account with them!I’ll report back at end of month to advise if they let the accounts stay open and pay interest on them.2
