Why not to replace the whole unit, together with the base/bracket?

Have you tried asking Deta https://www.deta.co.uk/technical-support ?0

best thing to do with a Deta alarm is hit it with a hammer(you'll probably need to do that to remove if anyway)
and then fit an Aico in it's place
Deta are awful, for one it takes me on average 2 minutes of frustration to fit/remove it from the base (and I do it quite often). and secondly, they have a habit of random beeping. An Aico will just clip on in seconds(once you've fitted the base), they look better, they are cheaper, they don't discontinue them and change the bracket every 10 years, and they don't beep unless there's a fire0 -
Yeah contacted Deta not really much help. The original he went after 3 years, they sent a replacement last year and this has gone exactly the same way, sporadic beeping…no faith in this company at all. Definitely getting a different brand, just wish I could find one that can just clip into the bracket that was originally fitted.0
