Morning chums chilly but bright dog walked and just having a cuppa . Its all go this morning scaffolders are taking the scaffolding away the roofers are coming to do the electrics on the bedroom roof and some finishing off and the best bit my best friend of 50 years is coming for lunch I can't wait to see her we haven't met since xmas and then i had to sit on the doorstep she looks after her mum so we wanted to be careful . Does anyone know where i can get a reasonable weekend bag from ? just weighed my hand luggage and its 2.5kg empty and we are only allowed 5kg on the sea plane so a bag would be better .

Happy Birthday GERS and glad you are home safe from your travels. One of my granddaughters also has a birthday today, they live too far away for me to see her but I will phone her this evening. She is15 today and just wanted birthday money as she loves a shopping trip with her friends.
Iam really worried about all the bills going up so will have to get my “even more frugal hat on”
Still at least I have a home, not like the poor people in Ukraine13 -

I agree with Nelski and Gers .

well done Bella12 -
I did report the unpleasant post yesterday but then my subsequent posts were wiped although they were on a completely different subject. I seem to have been forgiven now!14

Morning everyone
I missed yesterday's goings on - but well done Bella on chasing away whoever was disturbing our nice little group. I know I'm not alone in appreciating all the support and friendship on here.
I got a bargain yesterday. I've been looking for a new wooden bench for my garden - the plan being to move my old one to the bottom bit with the new stones on and put a new one at the top. I'd found the one I've already got which is so comfy - £100 on Amazon and £95 on Ebay. DD took me over to B and M after work yesterday - they had the same one for just £60! Only 2 left in stock so I was lucky. It's now in the hallway , waiting to be built.
It's my dad's birthday today - he's 87. We're all going for tea later as he wanted a party!
Gers, enjoy happy memories of your mum today.
Had a good chat with eldest DD last night, home from Paris - she really enjoyed it.
Well I'm going to get on with some jobs, the off to work just after 11.
Have a good day everyone. Take care x
