Advice needed on extending travel insurance whilst in abroad

Looking for a bit of advice.

I recently travelled outside EU to visit my gran who unfortunately passed away few days ago. Original travel plan was under 2 weeks and I have Nationwide FlexPlus Travel Insurance cover which will still cover me for another 2 weeks (limit of 30 days per trip). Due to the change in circumstances, I'll need to stay here for another month to sort out various things. Nationwide Travel Insurance would not extend the cover beyond the 30 day period since I have already left UK hence I'm looking for another Travel Insurance provider to continue the cover beyond NW cover period.

Any suggestions or pointers towards specialist travel insurance companies or brokers who can help will be appreciated.

If you google for suggests there are now many more than there were previously... probably understandable the need has gone up in recent years.

Cannot recommend providers but would say to make sure you know who you are buying from/which the insurer is when you've gotten to the end of the process before buying... certainly previously a large proportion of providers were outside the UK/EU which is ok but you have to be aware that its a much less regulated industry outside the EU and not all will have protections like Financial Ombudsman/FSCS etc

Most have a moratorium of a few days other than for major incidents with independent witnesses and so its worth considering buying overlapping cover rather than back to back to avoid something not being covered during that initial period.

Thanks Sandtree, hoping to buy from UK based insurers only. Agree on the point of overlapping cover to avoid any void periods.  Would also like to hear from anyone who'd been in a similar situation.
