SMETS1 in home display missing on completion of house purchase

My SMETS1 meter has been upgraded so it can now be read remotely by octopus energy. My problem is that I don’t have the remote indicator panel ( I assume the previous house owner threw it out as SMETS1 had been dumbed by changing supplier) .
I have been emailing Octopus for 10 weeks requesting a replacement panel and I’m getting fobbed off . Are they responsible in supplying a replacement ?

No, they have no obligation to provide a replacement, and given it is SMETS1 I doubt they would have any in stock anyway.

There are alternatives that you can purchase elsewhere like the solutions from Hildebrand.

I have been told that I can't get one.  I asked Octopus themselves but they can't replace the meter either due to OFGEM rules.

You can purchase your own IHD from Chameleon. Have a look at the IVIE Bud at £49.99.

Chameleon is a Registered DCC User and they can set up the IHD to work with your secure communications hub. Do not buy an IHD from anyone other than a DCC User: it will not work.

As stated above, suppliers are only responsible for the IHDs that they install for 12 months. No supplier will agree to a meter transfer just because the IHD is missing.

FWiW, if you download the free App BRIGHT you can get all the information that you need and more. The App will show 30 minute usage (if you have agreed to it) along with costs.
