  • Thanks Keith. I have also received a letter from VCS asking me if I would like to settle for £192.50. Should I fail to accept their offer then they will proceed to trial and bring the letter to the courts attention upon the question of costs in order to seek further costs of £220 incurred in having to instruct a local Solicitor to attend the hearing in conjunction with the amount claimed on the Claim Form.
Should I reply to VCS? Will the judge frown on this if I don’t attempt to resolve the dispute?
WOW, they are getting heavy handed ?
Read between the lines ...... If they thought they could win, they would not offer a deal ...... and they will make themselves look stupid to a judge trying to add extra fees for being stupid for employing a "rent by the hour" legal

Your WS clearly shows why the court should dismiss your case.

And that very unprofessional letter from VCS must be shown to the judge because a small claims court does not work like that. The letter borders on intimidating behaviour and black mail

What a judge will allow is YOUR costs which can include costs against VCS for unreasonable behaviour

    The letter shows complete desperation
  • Hi Everyone
I received a Notice of Discontinuance from VCS today, so I would like to thank everyone for your help, I definitely could not have done this without you.
    Well done, it's over.

These crazzies are wasting so much of their time and money recently trying to mug the courts with crap cases and fake charges ...... VCS knew that another court spanking was about to happen ?

Yay, ANOTHER VCS ONE BITES THE DUST!

    Well done for winning.  And...

    ...please don't leave us yet!

We need you - as a genuine PPC victim of aggression, sharp practice and an 'extortion' attempt to add £70 - to respond robustly to the Public Consultation on the level of parking charges and banning of the false added DRA 'fee' that too many honest motorists currently fall victim to.

It will need consumer input (powerful voices) but change is afoot. It's taken about 5 years to get to this stage:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6333036/breaking-news-government-has-announced-the-statutory-code-of-practice-and-enforcement-framework/p1

And then the industry threw victims' money at it and blocked and delayed it - explained here:

Please now Bookmark BOTH threads and set up email alerts on your posting profile, so that you get an email alert when we post there, as we will, once the Public Consultation opens later this year, once the new Ministers are fully appraised.

We need people like you and your driving family & friends to respond in high numbers! You have a personal story to tell about the culture of getting a DRA to add a pointless £70 for their own profit, to be let loose to intimidate people.

Well done on sending them off. :)

They may have tried to get these costs but most judges would not have awarded it. They might "seek" but it is not the gospel according to Excel.

The VCS letter should be included with the forthcoming consultation to show government what the "dirty tricks brigade" get up to.

This must be desperation to collect as much money as possible before the clamp down is applied
