    Married men live longer than unmarried ones!
    Naming a beneficiary to your pension is a good move.
    The last people to collect a US Civil War Pension (one a widow, the other an orphan) drew pensions until 2020!

    Oh dear. You've been watching too much Mrs Maisel, obviously.

    P.S. Nobody needs any rings these days. What an absolute waste of money. That piece of paper is all that's needed.

    Or she could make an honest man of him!  

    And I was sure the DeBeer's ad said it should be 3 months salary!  Wasn't a problem for us in any case as we were in grad school and not earning so mostly it was a case of forgoing that's week's trip to the pub.
