British Gas - Switching Business to Residential - No one will take us on!

Hi All, wondering if there is anyone out there who has been in a similar situation. I recently moved into a house and as it was officially a convent (a small one) it has been on a business tariff, which I wasn't originally aware of. Now I've been trying to get British gas to set up my account and switch me over to residential from the move date (2 months ago) speaking to 10/15 people along the way. I've now been told 2 months down the line that my account is ready to be accepted as a residential customer, but I will be charged emergency business rates (9p per kwh and 2.50 per day) until I switch. Now after they have moved my sector code to domestic, British gas have then told me that they're not accepting new customers, as are no other suppliers in the market so they've effectively stuck me in limbo, on inflated rates with no where else to go. Has anyone else been in this situation or have any ideas?????

I would have thought complaining to BG is yout best bet as they should accept the change.

However would you as a business want to gain a loss making customer?

Probably have to find someone with half a clue that already knows you are a customer and it is a change of measurement class rather than a customer transfer (those are the words to use). Also how are you ready to be domestic as the supplier would usually start the COMC process so would well be aware of what was going on. Frontline staff are not going to be helpful here. If you did thius trhough BG then go back to whoeever that was.
