Lit in Late November and not touched till turn-off in April.It was an old oil conversion model and we hated it sometimes. Every time the wind blew hard the oven temperature would fall away. Of course it's lovely having a hunk of hot metal in your kitchen on chill winter days and those well-heeled enough will continue to enjoy that. I don't think they'll make a come back for the rest of us.

A modern Electrikit conversion is supposed to take 90 minutes (as opposed to 12 hours). You also don’t have to have all the ovens and jobs on at the same time.GDB2222 said:
