Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark - air cooler than it has been, forecast is for a cooler but drier week - we'll see.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, rice/veg not sure what we'll be having tonight but will find something.
Yesterday work was ok, steady but manageable - did again have to pick up where someone should have done something and didn't and I had to pick that up luckily I managed to sort it out.
I'll go in a bit early this morning so I can organise something else - then I'll be happy that everything is in place as I like it.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's cold and frosty (I think) here, dry though.I went to the book club yesterday, and the book we had been reading was not generally liked, so I wasn't the only one. Hope our new one is better, haven't started it yet.We are going to our local Residents' Association meeting this morning, it's the second Tuesday of every month and seems to come round so quickly. There's the usual housework to do here then the quiz tonight.Yorkslass I think we must have the same kitchen window, ours is over the sink, and involves either a precarious lean over (which I don't do now) or the painful-for-the-knees kneeling on the worktop. Our kitchen units are old, I'm embarrassed to say how old, but cost a lot when installed and still looking pretty good. They are dated, but I still like them and the tiles. Just as well, because we can't afford a new kitchen. It needs decorating, and will get done soon, we can still manage the kitchen, Between wall cupboards, tiling, and 3 doors, there's not actually a lot of wall, so it's fiddly more than anything.Like yourselves, we have always done our own decorating, but I don't know how long we'll continue - our staircase is desperate now, but DH is still convinced we can paint it ourselves, though it's high. We'll see.Our doggy guest has gone home, we miss him even though here was only here for the wekend.Taff you dodged a bullet with that car, thank heavens you did a check.Hope everyone has a good day, Thinking of Newroadahead and her Dad.Take care folks.17

Morning All
Cold again this morning but only a light frost, took ages to defrost the car yesterday. I was right, the fog only seemed to be here, it cleared about 2 miles away.
Busy day at work, one of my Colleagues who runs the Breakfast Club is off sick so I'm doing her job too, just means all my jobs are pushed back to later in the day. Called in to see the little one after work, came home to clean the bathrooms as I didn't get them done at the weekend then went for a very slow swim at the pool. The hardest part was actually going although my fitness has obviously taken a nosedive!
Good job you checked the car taff, maybe yours will be back with you soon.
Bet your house feels quite empty Scarlett, surprising how quickly we get used to our visitors.
Safe travels home Gers.
Hope you had a lovely day Ruby.
Hope your OH's leg is ok Izzy.
Off to the shower for me ready for another day at the madhouse - one particularly troublesome young man at school was on the stage in the hall, I asked him to come down as it was dangerous and he replied 'I don't listen to old ladies'. That's me told then!
Have a happy Tuesday, take care. XX15 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another day for dancing around the mulberry bush here - cold and frosty yet again. They say it is to get milder as the week goes on - but the price to pay is rain!
On the subject of decorating, the whole house needs doing here. We always did it ourselves too, until Bob started being ill. Then we had someone do the kitchen (now in need of doing again!) and I had the hall and stairs done afterwards. But the rest of the house is in dire need, plus could do with some new carpets. But I just can't face the upheaval on my own. Where's the fairy with the magic wand when you need her?
Tuesday again so it's coffee and lunch meet up day. It will get me away from News 24 for a good few hours at least. I am doing too much comfort eating these days so I really should consult the healthy eating menu! Watch this space on that but I think I can hear fish and chips calling me already!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Thinking of NRA and her DD. Hope the holiday makers are enjoying their break. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning everyone thanks for the start NMLC hubby got in to the doctors yesterday I don’t know how much good it did the doctor is known to be very nice but he is always off with mental health problems when my hubby went yesterday the smell of alcohol nearly knocked him over and he looked at his knee and said he didn’t have a clue what it was he has prescribed him some steroid cream and said if if it’s no better next Wednesday he has made him an appointment to see him again I don’t think it will be him because he’s always off on the sick which might not be a bad thing but hubby goes back to the hospital the 31st of this month for a check up so they might sort him out what else can you do you are in there hands .off to work now back at 5 it’s a cold bright and frosty morning here I think the temperature has to pick up later in the week but that’s with rain come on summer hurry up .hope you get sorted with a car soon Taff hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing15

Good Morning chums ,an update on Stanley the greyhound, he had a good night and has started to eat more .He's been very good, and not bothered about his bandage on his foot at all. Apparently he had snapped a tendon, hence he had to have that part of his paw amputated, but he's home and DD said he seems a lot more alert and his old self and obviously in a lot less pain than he was. She is just so relieved to see him back more like his soppy self again.
Well I have just put the recycling out and golly its a very frosty cold morning. The sun is out and hopefully it will burn off the frost.my car is looking like an igloo at the moment
Its Tuesday so its coffee morning at Dobbies, coffee and a chinwag with my friends. I really like Tuesdays as I see my friends ,drink coffee and have a good natter and giggle then usually get any shopping I need.
Both Tesco's and Aldi's are very close by. Then on the way home I drop off any library books .So I multi-task on Tuesdays and it means I get all my things done that I need to using my car only once during the week.
With the cost of fuel, it seems eminently sensible to do it all on the same day . I live close enough to a small shopping precinct to walk to, if I run out of anything during the following week.
My shopping list so far this month is pretty small, so I may not bother with shopping this morning, nothing on there I can't manage without.
I think I shall warm up with some porridge for breakfast as it really does fill you up on a cold morning.
I have a HM sheppard's pie for dinner tonight , just dug it out from the freezer. I have quite a bit of milk in the fridge so I think I shall make a semolina pudding for desert.
I have some small pots of jam given to me in a gift set for Christmas that I will go through and see what I fancy to stick a dollop in the middle to liven it up a bitI'm not a big jam eater but a dollop on a milk semolina or rice pudding adds a bit of zing to it and makes it less bland.
Happy Birthday to those celebrating .its my DGDs 29th birthday on Thursday so I'll post her card off today before I forget.
The sun is really out now, and the sky seems to be clearing quite quickly but I shall still wrap up warm.
I hope everyone has a good day what ever they are doing ,roll on the spring and the end of this month the clocks change as well so brighter evenings ahead which always cheers me up
Stay safe and take care

Morning morning everyone. Sunny but cold here today. Because my energy levels are so low I am trying to achieve one job a day. Yesterday I planted Basil, Coriander and Rocket seeds. They are in small pots in the kitchen to germinate. Today I hope to empty some outdoor pots ready for planting out soon and possibly clean and restock my bird feeders. I feel better if I achieve something each day. IZzy, your husband really should report his concerns re alcohol/ Doctor to the Practice Manager.12

Morning
Having a “grumpy” morning today you know the ones
Tidied the house within an inch of its life yesterday so that the cleaner could clean properly today. Then after I messaged her to check the time she messaged back saying she was chocker with work and she’d let me know if a regular slot came available!! Strangely that’s what we had agreed to in the first place. What the $&*@ is wrong with cleaning companies round here. Going to have to go it alone for a while again I guess but no idea how I’m going to manage with jobs like windows bedding and floors. Scarlett I have the same in the kitchen and used to climb all over the sink and units to clean them. The only solution I could think of was one of those extendable window cleaners so no climbing needed
On a positive I did have a lovely message yesterday from my old cleaner with pictures of her gorgeous new baby. A little girl born on the 22/02/2022. She won’t forget her date of birth for sure. She’s not planning to return to work till after Christmas so I can’t steal her!
I’ll have to rethink I guess but not today. First world problem for sure and Ukraine puts everything into perspective atm. Least I have a house to clean
Hoisin Cod was really tasty last night. Will do that again for sure. Orzo mushroom risotto tonight with the addition of some need to use up bacon…recipe from the Heinz site again. I’ll be trying with asda soup though so hopefully is OK.
Nothing much planned today so I may start to tackle some jobs like the lounge windows that need doing. The bedding will now be left on for much longer.
NRA thinking about you
Have a good day all

Good morning all, bright, sunny and chilly here again.
Busy few days (for me) got in a sticky mess trying to make GF Almond cookies, all the stirring etc is painful, but worth it to have something GF that is edible, then yesterday I satisfied the yearning for a chicken pie, new pastry recipe which is lovely, but oh so difficult for me to work with, very patchwork and frustrating, but so yummy. Saturday saw us at the monthly coffee morning which was great as 2 friends who we had not seen for months came, cue much chatting and laughter.
I hope that the Misters with poorly legs are making progress and that the holiday girls are having a great time with respective families,
TA enjoy the fish and chips and the company. Camelot cheeky little monkey that lad. Scarlett with you on the decorating, quite a few rooms here needing it doing. Jackie so pleased that Stanley is more comfortable.
Nelski do you mind me asking what type of Ninja you have, I have the grill/bake/roast/airfry original grill one and we love it, I would like one of the pot type ones for bread/cake/liquid things, but no space in my tiny kitchen.
NRA hugs regarding you dear Dad, was there last Summer with my DM.
I hear signs of movement in kitchen OH is a pain in the morning, takes nearly 2 hours eating his brekkie and doing numerous sudoku, can't have a conversation with him and he clutters up the really small space, I just have to try and smile and catch up later LOL
Take care all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)11 -
Hi everyone,
Izzy, I'd keep an eye on that knee and seek help again if it gets worse.
Poppy, nice to see you posting.
Surely it's time for an update from Mehefin, as Esben would say in a sing song voice, Mehefin, where are you?
Taff, I'm sorry about the car, I hope the medication tweaks work.
Talking of which I am waiting for a call from the Dr to talk about my meds. I need to confess that I've upped my thyroxine very slightly, I've never spoken to this Doc before so I hope they are one of the go by the symptoms brigade rather than the, you must have a blood test before you change anything lot. After 35 years with an under-active thyroid I think I know my body well enough by now.
Steve has gone to play golf and Laura and Esben are coming this morning. Laura has a load of nappies to sanitise before she puts them in storage and her washing machine has given up the ghost. They will stay until tomorrow evening and I may go back with them to take Esben to nursery on Thursday if I'm needed, I'll come home by train.
I have plans to make biscuits with Esben when they arrive and need to make a bolognaise sauce for tonight's meal.
Have a good day.11 -
