When the independent damp/timber surveyor I engaged to check under my floors out put his damp meter on the carpet it registered 96.0 -

Yes. there's peeling an inch or two back to check the floor but 6ft worth of carpet being rolled back? Not surprised its caused problems. If they were professionally fitted originally, I'd want them fitted properly again, not have the surveyor trying to tug them loosely back into a rough position. Mind you, I do possess the tools to do that myself lol. Not everyone does.0

Glad to hear it's resolved, all the best with your completion. And I agree I'd dump this surveyor - six foot?!£216 saved 24 October 20140

In some ways I think I would like a surveyor who was over thorough like this. I offered to move stuff for the surveyor who came to look at the house we were saying and he actually said no “because then he would have to comment on it” which seemed pretty lazy to me. Perhaps if we had your surveyor the first time we bought a house we would have known that the carpet was the only thing stopping us falling through the floor in the dining room!0
