BG Peoples Tariff

I am with British Gas on the Peoples Tariff but have different rates shown on my bill compared to what British gas says my tariff charges are.

The tariff is supposed to be:
Gas Standing: 26.123
Gas Unit rate: 4.197
Electric Standing: 25.664
Electric Unit rate: 21.607

However, my actual bill shows different rates! Is this because they would otherwise exceed the current cap?
Gas Standing: 24.879
Gas Unit rate: 3.997
Electric Standing: 24.441
Electric Unit rate: 20.578

As I'm being charged less for all of them, I'm not complaining but it does seem strange - I pay by monthly direct debit if that's relevant.

In addition to the above, I've also been sent the new tariffs from 1st April - which includes an eye watering doubling of the electric standing charge!
Gas Standing: 27.220
Gas Unit rate: 7.476
Electric Standing: 51.626
Electric Unit rate: 28.408

These rates appear to exceed the OfGem caps, so would that again mean that my actual bills will be lower, as BG can't charge me their new tariff rates?
Gas Standing: 27.0
Gas Unit rate: 7.0
Electric Standing: 45.0
Electric Unit rate: 28.0

The rates are different for each region and variations depend upon how you pay,so you will see some variation when you compare your actual rates to rates you may see elsewhere.
The new rates you have been quoted do not exceed the 1st April Ofgem cap for the South West region, is that where you are located?

Those are not the Ofgem caps. See the link in my signature for the calculated caps for each region.

Yes South West. Where do you see the regional rates? The Ofgem site just seems to show one rate as per those I mention

Check the link QrizB has in their signature above...
Sadly all the news reports dumb things down to a single number as an average, which is of course accurate for nobody.

The first block is including 5% VAT, while the second block is the net amount in the invoice, with VAT  added to the total.

    For example Gas Unit rate 3.997 + 5% VAT 0.19985 = 4.19685 (rounded 4.197)
