Miele floorhead for carpet

I have the C3 cat & dog vacuum cleaner. The main floor head supplied with it was impossible to push on carpet but it also came with a turbobrush (similar to this: https://youtu.be/EkgoIS5ESXQ). That works ok on carpet but it’s still quite an effort to use. However the main problem is that it’s so big and bulky which makes it hard to manoeuvre. I’ve ended up chipping paint from most of the skirting boards, taking chunks out of wooden furniture etc. I think it’s designed more for large houses with huge carpeted rooms. Not my little terraced house. It also seems very harsh on the carpet, which is now threadbare in the areas I vacuum most often.
I noticed this new floorhead on their website: https://www.miele.co.uk/e/allteq-floorhead-sbd-365-3-11805640-p
It says ‘For extremely effortless vacuuming’ which sounds perfect but knowing that Miele’s advertising doesn’t always match up to reality I decided to ring and ask more about it. However I just keep getting scripted answers and the staff I spoke to had no idea about any of the floor heads. They even tried to sell me the one I already had, which doesn’t work on carpet at all!

Has anyone tried this floorhead? It’s not cheap so I don’t want to buy it and then find it’s just as bad as the original one.

My original C3 cat and dog came with two floorheads.
That linked head looks like a recent prettied up version of the standard push smooth (carpet) and bristle (smooth floor) head - changed via the lever on the head top surface, that came with mine.
It's a beggar to push on carpet with bristles down.
I doubt the new 'improved' one will be any easier.1 -

Try also doing the same with the ordinary floor head, it does make it easier.0 -
Or just use the 'power' setting on the main machine to reduce the suction level (as the handle control does, but more electrically wastefully)?

I tried adjusting settings at the very beginning. It made very little difference. This is my original thread about it : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5776065/miele-vacuum-cleaner-hard-to-push/p1
This is a well-known problem with Miele, as the video I linked to in my OP shows. I just wish I’d known about it before I bought it. The floor heads are so expensive that I’m starting to think I should just buy a different vacuum cleaner instead of putting up with this hassle for more years. I couldn’t find anything else suitable back then but someone recommended Sebo which seems worth looking at.0 -

None of the heads on mine have been difficult to push/pull over the carpets if set correctly. Could it be that the problem is only with newer models?
I do also have a 20+ year old Sebo, which is excellent on carpets, but it is an upright model. Sebo is also a good make. If you have a lot of carpets then an upright model could be the better choice. The Sebo upright is also fine on hard floors as the brushes are self adjusting.
However the upright one I have is quite bulky, so may not suit you if you find the Miele turbo brush too large.
edit.....did you solve the problem of the expensive dust bags?
There are places that sell substitute own brand ones that fit the Miele machines, filters too. I found they work just as well as the real Miele ones.
I buy them in bulk and share the order with my daughter, so order infrequently, so cannot remember right now where I got them from, but it was a place that specialises in dust bags.

The two bedrooms have carpet, as well as the stairs. The rest is all hard floors, which the Miele is excellent for. Sebo have cylinder vacuum cleaners on their website so one of those might be better but I feel like I wasted a lot of money on this Miele which is why I keep putting up with it! The dust bags are expensive too but at least, since my house is so tiny, one bag lasts a very long time here. I buy them on Amazon. Filters too. The one I bought recently was half the price compared to Miele’s website.0
