Airport Parking Scam

I booked & paid for airport parking at Manchester Airport through a Meet & Greet Company while I flew to Ireland for a funeral. I’ve just received a £100 fine from Parking Eye because my car was collected by them and left at a local hotel until they returned it to me after my flight home. I paid them for secure off site parking . I’ve appealed the fine but surely I’m not responsible for paying this?

Please repost in the Parking board and let this thread here die. (Whilst there are people who post in multiple boards, the experts for this situation reside over in Parking, not here). Whilst there, please take a read of the NEWBIES Announcement thread - it is one of the 5 or 6 threads which are "stuck" to the top of the thread listings page.

And when you post there, please confirm which country you reside in (England, Wales or Scotland) - you may have travelled from Manchester but that doesn't necessarily mean you reside in England. (The rules are - currently - different for people who reside in Scotland). :)

PS - the Meet-n-Greet company are entirely at fault here ... An option you have is to respond to the PCN to name that company as the "driver" of the vehicle. ;)

    Which Meet & Greet company?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You need to name them as keeper of the car that day/week and supply proof, so that you are transferring liability.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
