Gladstone PCN letter before claim - 3 years ago

Hi all,

First time poster and first time user of the site. I have read some of the posts already about Gladstone taking people to court.

Anyway, they sent me this letter giving me 30 days before a claim. Which looks rather concerning.

When I parked there, it was because my car got damaged in adjacent car park so I moved it to this location right next to the car park to inspect the damage. While I was on the phone, one of their wardens quickly slapped on a ticket. I ignored it for some years. The sign for parking was difficult to see amidst the circumstances.

Apologies if I am making a common post but could someone very kindly point me to a standard defence letter for my circumstances.

Also, if it goes to court and I lose,am I correct in assuming the CCJ will be removed if I pay in full within 1 month? Hoping it doesn't get to that stage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Thanks all
Jamie

Aha, Gladstones and PPS (London) Ltd.  We always beat them!

At LBC stage, same advice as here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/79032722#Comment_79032722

Read the Newbies thread 2nd post (the part about LBC stage - see my signature because you don't need another link) and request a SAR from the parking firm and also email Gladstones,  letting them know that you have emailed their client requesting a SAR and that the case myst be put 'on hold' for at least 30 days.

This is fully covered in the NEWBIES thread including what a SAR is and where to send it.  See my signature.  The thread is 2 clicks away!

    Also include in your
response to Gs, the fact that adding spurious (indeed fake) 'costs' to a parking charge is banned by the Government.  See my version I wrote on 24th February and adapt this wording for this point about false costs:

Read all about the new Code of Practice and be very robust with your responses.  Everyone needs to understand what happened in February and how important the DLUHC's ban on fake debt recovery fees is to existing cases!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
