car needs a new battery

Where is a good low cost place to buy a new car battery for a Honda Jazz?.
I've had prices from £70 to £150

Strangely Halfords was the cheapest with Kwik Fit the dearest so far.

If you're confident about fitting it yourself (usually a very simple job), then two online places I've used are Tayna and Alpha-Batteries.  Both very good prices and have had no issues at all whenever I've used them before.
Batteries, like many things, come in different qualities, from cheap 'n' cheerful to super-duper heavy-duty beasts.  When comparing prices, make sure you're comparing like for like in terms of quality.

Battery mega store are good also.
Go to say national tyres website and look for battery, enter your reg and find out the one you need.
    ie 096, agm etc.
Fitting on older cars is easy, do you have the radio code ?.

I personally would only go for Bosch, Varta, Yuasa in that order.
Do you have the AA or RAC, they sometimes do good prices.

Nothing wrong with Halfords batteries. They are pretty good quality, manufactured by Yuasa.

Another vote for Tayna, good price and fast delivery
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Does your car have stop/start technology in it? If so you will likely need to get the battery programmed to the car otherwise the electronics won’t work properly afterwards

Stop start batteries are more expensive as they have to do lots of ......stop starts.... they often are AGM, absorbed glass matt and must be charged on a processor controlled charger and not your grandads  old rusty charger. Battery engine management on the car needs to be updated to let it know there's a new battery, closed systems like Audi mean a visit to the dealer, open systems can be done by a local garage. It all depends on the age of the car.

It’s also worth investigating your local motor factors, the ones that supply to the trade but also happily sell direct to the public. If you do this, remember to ask what their best price is. It’s usually a bit less than the initial price.

When swapping the battery out you can avoid having to re-enter radio codes etc by connecting jump leads from another car to the +ve and -ve leads, so that when you remove the old battery the electrical system still has a charge in it. Once the new battery is in place remove the jump leads with the same care you would if you’d jump started it.

Halfords will fit at home and offer long warranty  4/5 years, motorfactors batteries are cheap and dont last.

GSF if you have one near by. I paid £36 for an 063 battery for the MK1 Focus a couple of weeks ago using a easily found discount code. Click & Collect.

Halfords were quoting £70 for the same!
