Party wall...

We're in the final stages of planning our single story kitchen extension. Our plan is to re open the chimney breast, raise the lintel and put our hob unit in there. My question is, as we're not touching the party wall itself and not wholly removing the breast, just effectively making the opening bigger do we need to serve notice for a Party wall? I've read conflicting information and due to us only doing structural work on the surrounding walls which are ours, and not the party wall itself. Any guidance? Thanks

Replacing the lintel over the fireplace opening shouldn't need a PWA.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
