I make a desert which is basically a panetonne cut across twice, sandwiched with chocolate infused marscapone and the whole cake drizzled with amaretto, icing sugar dusted over the top, then melted chocolate drizzled over. Orga**ic!
Panettone, Amaretto, marscapone & Chocolate supplied by Lidl!

Lidl sells their Amaretto for £8.20. It's not the Disaronno stuff but it is 28%, unlike the other cheaper bottles i've seen which have reduced alcohol. It's also 70cl and not 50.

Anyway, u save urself about £4 off the Tesco price if u buy Disaronno.

Haven't tested it yet tho as i'm on atkins lol but when i do i'll let ya know :rotfl:
The LIDL stuff is well worth the money. Dont waste your money on the more expensive option.

The only problem with it is that it seems to evapourate once opened though:beer:
  • I know this is an old threat but does anybody know the cheapest place for Disaronno at the moment? I've been drinking the cheaper amaretto from Netto which is very nice for £5/70cl but it's only 15% and I'd like the real deal for x-mas.

    Cheers,

    Mike
  • Actually I'd like to know of any offers too! Mike, if I find any I'll report back!

Disaronno is only 20% so not much difference to the 15% if you like it and the price is cheaper then you may as well stick with it!

Personally only like Disaronno though... I have about a glass worth left... now heading to the kitchen :D:beer:
  • I love Disaronno. Always like to have a bottle in for Christmas. I like to make Eton Mess with it too:

Blend some raspberries with Amaretto and spoon half into the bottom of serving glasses.

Then mix equal measures of raspberry yoghurt with double cream. fold in meringue pieces white choc chunks, almond flakes, whole raspberries and quartered strawberries and the rest of the amaretto/raspberry puree.

Share between the serving glasses and top with a strawberry.

Jamaretto sponge and custard is also fab.
Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j
  • Hi all, just drinking Lidl's amaretto for £8.20 - absolutely fantastic - 28% as well.
  • why bump a thread so old? i was all excited and going to sainsburys :mad:
  • I would recommend trying it mixed with Cranberry Juice. Ameretto and Cranberry Juice is my favourite drink, it tastes like Cherry Bakewells.
