If this has already been answered, please would someone kindly post the link to the relevant thread? I've searched without success on behalf of an elderly and completely non-tech savvy friend, and we would both appreciate any assistance to solve what I understand is the following issue, as outlined by my friend:
'Over the years I have been sending e-mails to friends with gmail.com addresses, sometimes getting the message that delivery has been delayed. In the last few days, e-mails to two particular gmail addresses have been undeliverable with the message:

The following message to <............@gmail.com> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:

I've not changed any settings on my computer, and these are addresses I've used successfully for many months. Messages to other gmail users are being delivered without any problem, so I'm totally baffled.'
If anyone could offer help, thank you!

Look at the email you're sending. This means if you follow the link the computers at GMail thinks you may be spamming, or something you've sent matches spamming methods. That's not to say you are, it just happens to match on this occasion.Find another way to send the email. if there are attachments, zip them up and send the zip. If you're sending emails outside of Gmail but via Gmail (ie pulling them into somewhere else like Yahoo Mail for example), try sending via Gmail direct. Something is triggering the spam filter at Gmail. It may be a one off.1

Usually its either the type of message being sent causing the issue or the use of a host that is known for spamming.

Which email provider is being used to send the emails?
The message suggests that GMail servers 'dont like/trust' the sending server.2 -
Many thanks for the replies. I've checked and it is the same btinternet address he's been using for years without problems. One of the addresses which is now being classed as 'undeliverable' worked fine a few days ago. No attachments, nothing odd or sinister about the content.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

Probably an issue with btinternet SMTP servers. Give them a few weeks to sort it out. How does friend send email? Do they use www.bt.com ?1

I've been in touch with my own ISP when one of my gmail messages met a similar fate. Apparently it's an issue with 'Google maintained equipment' and Google are working to resolve it 'as the highest priority'. So I think the advice above - to 'give it a few weeks' - is the answer!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
