Thanks so much @MovingForwards1

While you may still be able to drive, the employer may decline to continue with the application if you can't CURRENTLY show them a valid licence. Just warning you that this is a possibility.

Yeah I realise that @Savvy_Sue
What can I do though? (other than travel back in time and send my license in for renewal earlier! ha)
At the end of the day ive got nothing to loose... if I go with the attitude of impressing but not expecting anything then I cant be disappointed.
This unfortunately does seem to be the pattern of my life lately... if it can go wrong in some way it will, if someone can mess me about they will, if I take a step forward someone pushes me back 2 or 3 steps, I must be due a break soon!
In keeping with the above statement, I finished at 2am last night, got up at 6am to make sure I gave my self plenty of time to wake up, dress, prepare etc... go to run a bath, no hot water, boiler isnt working! after an hour of faffing and getting nowhere (got a separate thread on this! lol) I gave up and go to toilet and toilet doesnt flush (not related to the boiler issue at all, something was jammed in the cistern which I managed to fix after getting soaked by spraying water), by this time im stressed, annoyed, deflated and pondering the meaning of life etc... Anyway... the interview time is getting closer so I start getting ready and doing some prep... just about to leave... get an email saying the interview has been cancelled!!
You couldnt write some of the things that happen to me on a regular basis!! haha
Anyway, got an email couple hours later with no explanation as to why the interview was cancelled but has been rescheduled for 2 weeks time, its possibly a blessing in disguise, maybe I will get my renew license by then? Unlikely, but maybe.

Get to the PO this morning and you stand a chance of getting your new licence in time.
Take a photo of the front / back of your current one, attend the interview and you can show the photos, explain you know you couldn't be offered the job until the new one turns up, it's due any day and you'll pop in with it when it does.
Sounds like someone is off sick.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -

All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
I explained the situation to the woman at the post office and she provided me with some receipts as 'proof'. There is receipt for the postal order to DVLA that I had to pay, a receipt for the total amount (DVLA + Post Office Photograph etc...) and a Tracking Number to DVLA which has been signed for (which I can print out proof of delivery).
As it happens (im not sure how) I had 2 driving licenses, both with the same details, expiry date etc... so I still have an actual driving license card I can present at interview and the above paperwork to explain that the renewal is in process.0 -

Re the notice period, depending on the job it could very well take them some time to sort equipment, access to systems etc. Where I work we have to give HR and IT 2-3 weeks notice when a new person is going to start. So a waiting an extra couple of weeks for a good candidate wouldn’t bother me.Re not having your current role on your cv might look a bit odd. However make sure to mention the role in the interview and you should be ok. Don’t make a big thing of it, if they ask about your career history, why you’re applying for the role, or the standard ‘tell us about yourself’ drop it in then. ‘Currently I’m working in x role, because of y, but this role came up and it was too good an opportunity to miss, with my previous experience doing z, I knew this was the right opportunity for me and where my skills would be a real asset to the business’ and then talk about those skills. Don’t leave it to the end if you can avoid it, explain and move on, if you make it seem like you were hiding it, it will look like a big deal to the recruiter. People take jobs that they don’t enjoy for all sorts of reasons and they move on when a better fit comes along. If they ask why the job isn’t on your CV (and they might not) say it is because you wanted to ‘focus on the skills and experience that are most relevant to role you are applying for’ or something similar. You tailored the cv to the role. I’ve just finished a round of screening cvs for a job, and after reading close to 100 of them, quite a number have gone for a non-linear structure and focussed on the most relevant experience. At this point it is what you say in the interview that matters, if you’re the best candidate at interview stage then an out of date cv probably won’t matter.0
