So confused with energy prices
I’m sorry I know this has probably been asked many times. I just don’t understand it and don’t know what to do. I can’t afford over £200 a month. I’m going to call Octopus but I’m afraid that I won’t understand and will end up agreeing to the wrong thing. I’ve added screenshots of the details that I think will help, but please can someone guide me through options in easy terms! I live in a 3 bedroom Terrace and 2 adults live there.
thank you

thank you

You are on the Standard Variable tariff so you DO NOT have to agree any new contract.
Your prices will rise on April 1st to the new capped SV rates for your company, you need to find those and see what your current usage will cost at those rates.

Thank you, would those rates be on the octopus site somewhere.0

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Do you have any data for how much energy you use in kWh?

OP on top of what everyone else has said, you're in a fairly strong position; you've got £400 credit on your account and we're coming out of winter so your monthly bills will fall.

The right-hand side of your bill has your Estimated Annual Usage figures, about 2700kWh for elextricity and 13000kWh for gas.On Flexible Octopus, from April, your bill weill be around £165/month averaged over the year; less in the summer, more in winter.N. Thank you for that, so based on that I’m far better staying on the variable tariff and increasing my direct debit.0
