Standing charge increases Scottish Power.

I’ve just received my updated increases for this year.
As predicted my unit rate for gas has almost doubled and my electricity unit rate has gone up slightly.( 21.5p to 29.5p) 
However my daily standing charge for electricity has increased from 24p to 41.7p. (My gas standing charge has only increased by 1p per day).

Is this a way of the companies bypassing the cap on unit rates and can I do anything about this?
