    That notice can happily be ignored.  To evict you, legally, would need to be  a section 21 notice or section 8 notice which it ain't.

    Thatcher's 1988 Housing Act s(1) makes it clear for landlord to evict requires court, bailiffs etc.  Please don't believe me, look it up!

    So to be clear, he needs to issue us a Form 6a and the we’re given two months notice. We can literally ignore the notice and stay here?

    100%. You need a 6a S21 with two months notice and then you can still ignore it and wait for the courts to evict you. I imagine you will be long gone by then

    Yes. And assuming he does serve a valid S21 via a dorm 6a (many S21s are not valid), when it expires after 2 months you still need not leave. The tenancy still continues until a court ends it.

    You said earlier on that you agreed to leave. What exactly did you write?

  • As per the previous posts - check that the S21 has been issued correctly (check GMs post on the top of the forums).
    Politely tell the landlord you’ll leave when you’re ready to move into the property you are purchasing.
    Unless of course, you’ve already stated to the LL that’ll you’ll leave by xx/xx/xxxx
