Photo Scanner advice, please.

Hello, I have several hundred photos to scan. I have an old Epson Perfection 2480 Photo Scanner. Would a new one be much of a benefit to me? If yes, please let me know your suggestions. Max £ would be £200.

If the old one works and does what you need it to, why replace it?The quality of the photos themslves will be the limiting factor, whether you have a cheapy cheapy scanner of something that cost a second mortgage.

Have you still got the negatives for these photos? If so, you will get a better result scanning the negative and using something like this:

I use the 7600i SE model which is the same hardware, you might be able to pick a good one up second hand for less.
If you don't have the negatives, then something like this would be recommended as it is an auto feed so will save a lot of time doing several hundred photos:

Or even this, which is manual feed but much quick and easier than a flatbed scnner:
